This is a beautiful gift to a wonderful friend. We both love going to art shows in the SF Bay Area, and if this book wasn't so heavy and comprehensive of every painting in the Met, it would surely go with us on our journeys. I love that each painting has it's own full page, and you can turn to the back of the book for all the info you want on each piece. It's a great book.
The book us very well organized (chrinologjcally), has great illustrations that are easy to see and text describing them on separate pages, which makes the reproduction of paintings much more visible.
Excellent book for the price. The pictures are good and the backgrounds on the artworks are just right. Good value for a good price.
